Kyle Leon’s Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer Review
“Can It “Really” Help You Build Lean Muscle With ZERO Fat Gains???”
Official Site: Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer
Hey Future Ripped Guy,
Over the past few weeks I’ve been getting emails from guys who have worked hard at getting their body fat down to some very impressive numbers and they’re looking for a way to bulk up and at the same time avoid the “pudge pounds” that usually come with building muscle.
And that’s why I decided to review supposedly one of the best programs out there for building lean muscle with little to NO fat gains and it’s: Kyle Leon’s Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer Program.
In the next few minutes you’ll learn everything you need to know about Kyle Leon’s Muscle Maximizer Program like Who’s it “really” for, how much does it cost, what makes this program so unique and can it really deliver on it’s claims. And by the end of this quick Muscle Maximizer review you’ll have all the info you need to decide whether to give this program a try if it’s right for you or forget about it if it isn’t.
What is the Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer “REALLY”?
The Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer is a popular fitness program created by fitness model and Certified Nutritionist Kyle Leon.
This program designed to build lean muscle mass without any fat regardless of your body type. Kyle Leon stated: “There is not a “one size fits all” approach to training if you are serious about taking your body to the next level.” Which is why taking your body type as well as other key things into account when you’re building muscle is a very important concept that the entire Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer program is built on.
What Makes Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer Different From Everything Else?
The reason why Somanabolic Muscle Maximer is unlike all the other muscle building program out there is because it actually allows you to extensively customize the program to your specific needs. You can actually customize things like your meal plan and weight training regimen to key things about you including your age, height, weight, metabolism as well as your somatotype (fancy word for your body type).
As stated by Kyle Leon: “All somatotypes respond differently to nutrition and in order to maximize muscle growth without fat this has to be taken into account.”
The Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer actually delivers lean muscle gains without any fat gain by using 4 patented formulas that have been reportedly tested, tweaked and perfected for the past few years by world renowned nutritionists, fitness models and well respected bodybuilders. By using these formulas Kyle Leon can allow users of this program to tailor this program specifically to them.
What I Like Most About The Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer Program?
The Program Customizes to YOU
After going through the program from top to bottom I really like the fact that everything from your meals, to your workout plan is customized to you.
With the user friendly online software you can tailor the program to things like when you work out, what foods you like to eat as well as to your height and weight. This is very important because most muscle building programs only take your weight into account (if at all). But as you may already know, someone who weighs 150 lbs and is 5′ 8″ tall is completely different from someone who weighs 150 lbs and 6′ 3″ (tall like me). Unlike other programs these key measurements is something that the Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer Program takes into account to help you get better results with the program.
The Somatoyping (Body Type) Guide
This guide breaks down the characteristics of each of the main body types so you can identify what your body type is and what is needed to help make it grow bigger and stronger.
After reading this quick guide I was able to see that I’m a classic “Ecto-Mesomorph” which is predominantly Ectomorph with some Mesomorph traits. It stated that: “Ecto-mesomorphs find it somewhat difficult to gain weight. They have a fast metabolism which burns up calories quickly. They are built Tall and lean with more muscle mass than a true Ecto but still less than a True Mesomorph or Meso-Ecto”
It also gives you recommendations on your workouts and what your diet should look like, so for me it stated: “Ecto-meso’s need a huge amount of calories in order to gain weight but do NOT need a drastic deficit to lose weight. Workouts should be short and intense focusing on big muscle groups. Supplements are definitely recommended when looking to gain musle. Ecto-mesomorphs should eat before bed to prevent muscle catabolism during the night.“
All of which is actually spot on from my years of weight lifting and transformation experience.
I like this guide because it shows you the special characteristics of your body type which helps you work “with your body’s” natural characteristics so you can see results quicker. For example if you’re like me and you’re an ecto mesomorph you’ll have a faster than normal metabolism and need alot more calories than most people to build muscle. But if you’re training like a mesomorph or endomorph (basically everyone else) who have to limit their calories because they’re more sensitive to fat gains your results will be few and far between which may explain why alot of guys struggle to see results when they’re following other programs.
What Is Inside The Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer Program???
The Somanabolic Customizable Meal Plans & Transformation Tracker
The Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer Program includes meal plans that are fully customizable. You can actually customize your meal plan based on when you workout which is important since according to Kyle Leon what you eat around your workouts (pre-workout and post workout) plays a very big role in building muscle without adding fat.
The program also calculates your Post Workout Recovery shake which is custom tailored to your height, weight and body type. And based on the many questions I get on the topic of post workout nutrition this tool will be a very helpful feature should you decide to use it.
The Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer Program also includes the Transformation Tracker which allows you to quickly track not only your muscle growth progress, your calorie & water intake each day but it also gives you a daily snapshot of how you’re progressing with the program.
The Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer Quick Start Guide & Video Tutorial
The program includes a Quick Start Guide & Video Tutorial that is actually quick, simple and straight forward to help you get started with the program.
You actually watch Kyle Leon as he’s setting up and customizing his meal plans and explaining the fastest and simplest way to get started with the program. He also gives out some pretty good recommendations about how to customize the program so it’s tailored to you, your goals and even your day to day schedule.
He also explains in the video that when it comes to meal plans, it’s not that important to eat the foods that he includes, the most important thing is that your calorie targets are being met.
For example if it says you need to consume 30 grams of protein from a 9 0z. chicken breast, eating chicken breast isn’t the important thing, what’s important is that whatever you eat, it has to give you 30 grams of protein which is a pretty important concept to grasp when customizing the program for yourself.
The Somanabolic Weight Training Guide
This Weight Training Guide explains what it really means to “Train to Failure” and “Train Past Failure” as well as how and why these are important to your muscle growth based on your somatotype.
It also explains what are Growth Sets, 3 ways to maximize your growth sets and how to mentally prepare yourself to get the most out of these specific sets. What’s interesting to me is that Kyle Leon doesn’t want you to train to failure on every set. It’s primarily your “Growth Sets” where you train to failure or train past failure.
This weight training guide also hits on Rest Times which is yet another aspect of your training that will be vary depending on your somatotype.
The guide also touches on Free Weights and Machines, and notes that even though machines sometimes gets a bad rap amongst weight lifters they do play a role in building muscle and targeting certain muscle groups, and this is also based on your somatotype.
The Somanabolic Weight Training Guide includes a 9 week training program for each somatotype (body type). It’s pretty straight forward as far as reading and following it goes. One thing that took a few extra minutes to get used to was the Growth Sets, but it’s actually quite simple once you start reading through the workouts.
As far as the exercises go, there’s nothing too crazy here. If you’ve been weight training for at least 3 – 6 months then you’ve seen most of these exercises, what’s unique is how Kyle incorporates what he calls “Growth Sets” into each workout which is different for each Somatotype.
Each workout also includes instructions on how much cardio and what kind of cardio is needed for maximum muscle growth with the least amount of fat gain, and there’s also notes on abs / core training, like how much to do and how much is too much while following the 9 Week Workout Plan which is of course all based on your Somatotype.
Each Somatotype workout also comes with a 9 Week Training Log, so you can quickly print out your workout for the week and take it with you to the gym. The training logs don’t have the rep schemes, rest periods or Growth Sets on them. My guess is so that these training logs are as simple as possible for use at the gym. So you’ll need to review the full workout in the Somanabolic Weight Training Guide before taking the training logs to the gym.
Somanabolic Supplementation Guide
The Somanabolic Supplementation guide includes some very interesting information about the supplement industry and companies promoting these products. Inside this guide Kyle Leon also shares what he feels are the “essential” supplements for building muscle without the fat and which ones are not.
He gives a pretty good break down of how to use each of these supplements so that you see the most results from your workouts and your diet. This is pretty good information for anyone who has never researched supplements and when is the optimal time to use them before.
Also included with this guide is the “Muscle Maximizer Stack” which is supposedly the same supplement stack Kyle Leon takes when his goal is to build muscle without gaining fat.
Somanabolic 7 Days Out Program
The Somanabolic 7 Days Out program was designed to have you “peak” (look fuller, leaner, more muscular and vascular) for one day (i.e – for a photo shoot, a pool party, a trip to the beach, etc.)
What’s interesting about this program is that it doesn’t incorporate any cardio. To use this program you actually must satisfy certain requirements first.
One of which is “being relatively lean already”. This is where Kyle Leon actually shares a pretty quick mirror test you can use to see if you’re lean enough to follow this 7 Days Out Program. The guide for this 7 Day program takes you through each day and actually explains not only how to train but how to manipulate your diet and water intake to achieve a leaner muscular and more fuller look within 7 days.
For someone who has never gone through something like this, the steps in this guide seemed pretty straight forward, I also like the fact that Kyle Leon explains the “why” behind everything you’re doing so you can see how your diet, training and water intake is used to create this “peaked” look.
This 7 Days Out program is a really good add-on for those who want to look in tip top shape for an upcoming special occasion, like a reunion, a party of some sort or even a BBQ but it appears this program is more beneficial for those occasions where your shirt is going to be off or you’re going to be showing more skin than normal like a photo shoot or going to the beach, or a pool party.
Where The Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer Program Fell Short
No Exercise Demonstrations
Even though The Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer seems to be a pretty well rounded program, my main “gripe” with it is that it doesn’t include any exercise demonstrations. Kyle Leon actually states that this program is for (intermediate to advanced weight lifters) those who have at least 3 months of weight lifting experience and already know how to perform exercises with proper form and technique which is why I’m guess he chose not to include Exercise Demonstrations in his program.
Even though there are alot of resources you can turn to when it comes to proper form and technique (my favorite is: http://www.bodybuilding.com/exercises/) I still would have liked to have seen some type of guide or quick tips on key things to focus on when doing these exercises like form, tempo, injury prevention etc.
Who Is The Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer Really For???
As stated above, according to Kyle Leon this program is for (intermediate to advanced weight lifters) those who have at least 3 months of weight lifting experience and already know how to perform exercises with proper form and technique.
But aside from that this program is for anyone who is looking to build muscle without gaining fat in the process (in other words you want to bulk up while protecting your waist line). If you fall into either of these categories then this program will serve you well.
The cost of Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer is $47. This is actually one of the more affordable muscle building programs out there and for everything that’s included inside the program this is a very affordable price even for those who are on a tight budget.
In the end the Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer is actually a very well rounded and straight forward program. If you’re one of those guys who want to build muscle without gaining fat then I would highly recommend you give this program a try. This is one of the only programs I’ve seen to date that allows you to pretty much customize the entire program to fit your body type, workout schedule, height, weight and even your meal preferences, and it also comes with the software that does all of this for you so you’re not plugging in formulas and doing crazy calculations.
Plus it also comes with a 60 Day No Questions Asked Money Back Guarantee. Which means you can try it out and if it doesn’t deliver on it’s claims you can send it back, get a full refund and that’ll be the end of it.
The Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer actually gives a lot of value for a rather low price and if you’re on the fence about trying it out I highly recommend you at least give it a shot because this is one of the most straight forward, easy to follow and customizable programs I’ve seen by far.
